Hello friends.
It has been a while since I’ve written a proper update. I get lazy about those, but it’s only because I had to catch up on Handmaid’s Tale. That important work is done, so I can get back to business.
Here’s what’s going on in my world:
- Clark is off at college. That left us with an empty nest, which we decided to immediately fill–with a dog, not another kid.
I know, I know, I hear you groaning. But he’s an older dog, and he was going to be euthanized, and he looked at us with his sweet puppy dog eyes. We were powerless.
We’re still deciding what to name him. I suggested Clark, but Rich doesn’t see the humor. Jake maybe?
- We’ve been on the road a lot over the past month. Charleston (fun), Ohio (college dropoff), Lake Conroe TX (fun), Upstate New York (family funeral), Georgetown TX (memorial), Seaside FL (fun).
See? I wasn’t neglecting you, I was just busy.
- End of the Bench Sports published a humor piece I wrote, titled, “God Here, Reminding You That Every Touchdown Is Thanks to Me.” You can read it here: Lucie’s Being Snarky Again
- I’m still doing learning-of-the-day (How the Hell Did I Not Know That?) posts on Instagram.
You can find me here: Lucie’s Instagram
If you’d like to get these in your email inbox, just comment below or reply to the newsletter, and I’ll get you added. - And yes, I’m still working on the book. Always the book. Right now: the book proposal, which is where I develop a marketing plan and try to convince an agent that I will be able to sell the HELL out of this thing. WHICH I SO CAN!
- And since it’s fall now, it’s a good time to link to Colin Nissan’s It’s Decorative Gourd Season, Motherfuckers. Why? Because there’s a nip in the air, and my house is full of mutant fucking squash.
That’s it for now! I hope you all had a great summer and are staying healthy. Until October!
